Instead of posting 6 different reviews, it's easier to just write about the whole Melbourne burger experience in one blog, so here we go.
I put out a few posts asking for suggestions of places to go, and the places we visited we're mainly based on that
Easeys - Collingwood
I'd been told this was an institution of Melbourne, a place I had to go check out, regardless of what the burgers we're like. Easeys is situated in an old train carriage up 5-6 flights of stairs on top of a building in Collingwood, a dining setting I wasn't expecting. The menu was good and the burgers looked alright from what I could see on the menu. To be honest, after the hype I was kind've disappointed, the burger didn't seem the freshest and for a cheeseburger that should be so simple, it wasn't super appealing. A positive for me was the use of a potato bun and raw white onion (finally). The sides they had on offer weren't too bad and the potato scallop (cake in melb) was pretty decent.

Rocket Burgers & Fries - Flinders Street
After the disappointment that we'd had above, on the walk home we walked past Rocket Burger on the corner of flinders street across from the station, this was a bit of a 'fuck it - Issac does this all the time' moment. This was the second burger of the day and set the tone for the next 2 days. For $12 this was a very good cheeseburger, nothing fancy, nice smash pattie, onion, pickles, tomato sauce, mustard & cheese. Exactly what a burger needs to be. It didnt set the world on fire, but it also wasn't bad. For me this would've been a great 'on the way home from a night out burger'. Nothing fancy and it just hit the spot. Even better, you could see the staff in the kitchen prepping the mince from scratch, knowing that it was handmade and fresh was a nice bonus

300 Grams - Northcote
This joint had multiple recommendations and I can see why, with 3 locations scattered around the Melbourne suburbs the venture out was well worth it. I treated myself to a double cheeseburger, which once again was done the nice and simple way. Double smash pattie, cheese, spanish onion, pickles, tomato sauce and a house '300 Grams' special sauce. It all combined well and is up there with some of the best smash I've had so far. The only let down of this burger was the bun probably wasn't the freshest on the day. It tore apart on me but didn't ruin the burger. A really cool little shop and somewhere I'd go again. One of the better tasting burgers I've had, it just melted in my mouth and was super gooey, a really good mouth feel when eating it. If thats a thing...

College DropOut Burgers - Ivanhoe
Righto, the hype around this place is deserved. I hit up the page to check some details and got chatting with Mark the owner, and holy fuck I'm glad I made the trek out to check these burgers out. After the hour walk from 300 Grams to College Drop Out I was hungry, and we were treated to a spread. Im a simple cheeseburger guy and this place delivered. Holy shit, possibly the best cheeseburger we've eaten in 70 odd reviews. It was the perfect combination of sauce, incredible smash pattie, cheese, pickles, white onion (helliluja) and soft soft soft milk bun. Same as above, unreal gooeyness and melt in your mouth texture. And the presentation of these burgers is immaculate. I just want to go back already.

The chicken burger here is something else as well. Named the Sanders, it's their take on the classic KFC fillet burger, expect it blows KFC out of the water. Whilst not having the 11 secret herbs & spices, the pepper mayo they use is where the taste and flavour combination works so well. From memory they even use breast fillet and keep it so juicy and full of flavour. On a soft milk bun with lettuce, pepper mayo, pickles & a thick piece of fried chicken, this is the best chicken burger we've eaten, to be honest I probably should've given it an even higher score. ELITE burger.

Royal Stacks - Melbourne CBD
A proper institution of Melbourne and something I was told I had to try as well. We got there at 11am right on open, and by 11.15 the place was pumping. I was lucky enough to meet up with @counting_zacros, the insta and tiktok legend making cheat meals healthy. After chewing the fat for a bit I landed on the single stack burger. Something that seemed light enough and wasn't going to make me feel sick after 3 days straight of multiple burgers. This was the kind've burger that I felt like you would get given everytime you order it. Nothing over the top, and simple enough to not fuck up. It was the first non smash burger we'd had in Melbourne too. Lettuce, tomato cheese, pickles, stacks sauce and a pattie. A decent burger and one that wasn't OTT. Hit the spot nicely and like I said, seems like is the standard for what you'd get everytime you order it. They also have like 19 stores so should be easy enough to find when in Melb

Until next time melb, got plenty on the list for my next visit xx
